A few months ago, several projects in South America were announced to proceed with financing without committed energy contracts, selling energy only on the spot/wholesale markets.  With the increase of Latin American & Caribbean solar markets, how is your company managing the change in financing structures, handling the political risks and entering these markets.  There is no doubt that a lot of solar will be built here, how will you get a piece of it?

The solar market in the US has grown.  Another record quarter and now for the first time on path to be larger than the German solar market.  The question seems to be where the market is growing and how other contractors can benefit from this larger market.  Tell me where you see the hot spots and where you still see weakness.

Mosaic came up with a brilliant idea yesterday.  You can give the gift of solar for to your friends and family.  Not only will they learn a bit about solar but they will see a return on their money.  The result will mean more folks from outside of the mainstream solar sector realizing solar makes sense.

We almost always talk about PV without mentioning much about solar thermal.  While net metering for PV was a big deal in Arizona, it appears that solar thermal is making quite the impact as well.  In Florida a typical 5kW could save a family $75-$100 per month while a $5,000 solar thermal install saves about $50-$75 per month.  The financial benefit is there, why isn't the market as well?

I love days like today in the solar industry.  I wish that all of the stories were pieces written by solar pros but any day when we get great material from Jane Weissman and Tor Valenza is a good day in solar.  Spreading the solar gospel is important both inside and outside of the market.  I agree with Tor, we are all Solar "Spartacus"!

Putting today's SolarWakeup in context we have a bit of everything.  The EU finalized duties this week and now the solar association thinks it will be overturned.  Edison International (Owners of several solar companies) and advocate for utilities is reaffirming its work during the APS net metering debate; foot in mouth?  And yield cos are the new REIT/MLP based on the press and talk at recent solar summits.  Expect to hear this word more frequently.
