Congratulations on making it to the end of 2013.  Today is, in reality, the last business day of the year.  We round out the year with some more lists and predictions but we can pause and give ourselves a round of applause for a job well done.  The year was a positive forward progress in our mission to install more solar, across all market segments.  Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It is time for the holidays and everything is slowing down, especially solar news content.  However, it is time to support the people that are helping you keep your jobs and keeping them profitable.  Consider giving to Vote Solar before the end of the year, even a few dollars.  Teams like Vote Solar help drive the policies like net metering that create the backbone of our industry so we can all benefit.

Imagine if your financial advisor approached you to invest all of your 401k into a speculative stock.  It is an idea that would never pass muster because the volatility would be too high to invest all of your money in.  Natural gas was well over $10/mmBtu just a few years ago.  The price volatility is enormous and upward movement potential is very possible.  Then why are regulators and commerce department pushing us towards 100% natural gas energy portfolios? Florida is on track to be over 70% natural gas.  Not having price stability like solar in the portfolio is malpractice!
