This is your SolarWakeup for November 1st, 2012.

Wakeup Thoughts: Coverage from Sandy’s destruction is now asking the question that many were asking during the debates.  Where is the talk about climate change and the role that renewable energy plays in it? With Hurricanes now affecting the entire Eastern seaboard will solar energy be looked at more closely as a backup solution?

Wakeup Thoughts: As the cleanup and damage assessment begins in the Northeast, I wonder about the condition of the rooftop solar installations.  Are they still intact? Have they shifted? Was the insurance coverage sufficient and does it apply for wind event?

Wakeup Thoughts: Hope everyone in the Northeast made it through the storm okay.  Many of our colleagues are attending the Solar Market Insight conference in San Francisco and it appears the data coming out is positive.

Wakeup Thoughts: Thoughts go out to all the readers in Sandy’s path, please be careful during and after the storm.  I can’t help but think that this is the second storm to hit the Northeast in as many years while I have been relatively storm free in South Florida; strange changes to our climate indeed.
