CNBC contributors are bullish on the next solar boom in the form of energy storage.  Storage, in my opinion, is going to play big role in the evolution of the solar market as well. Intelligent storage can be the bridge to making distributed solar a valuable baseload that attacks the intermittent energy profile, reduces the threat of net metering regulation and lowers demand charges.  What’s next for your business?

Early word from WSJ that SolarCity has filed a lawsuit against US Treasury for the shortfall of 1603 payments.  No link to the story because it is premium content but as the story goes public, the links will come.  Interesting to see some pushback from the solar industry since solar has struggled to fight for its right to exist.

Interesting post about PG&E and the threat from solar.  If any utilities have positioned themselves to be taken down, I agree with the author that PG&E will have a long battle on its hands.  The rate structures, average rates and high demand charges make both commercial and residential customers look towards solar for cost relief.  Surely, the next step will be legislative change attempts from the utilities, let’s see how this plays out.
