This is your SolarWakeup for May 28th, 2013

Yesterday, we celebrated Memorial Day.  As we go through our daily routines, we have to remember that many of our fellow citizens are still abroad, away from their families, in conflicts that they have been sent to in order to protect us.  Do what you can in your daily lives to help the veterans abroad and when they return.

The solar panel trade war is taking an interesting turn.  The US is getting involved in the EU-China tariffs with Germany and Britain taking the anti-tariff position.  There appear to be moving parts all over the place but it seems like a global concensus is beginning to take shape.  I would love to hear from my readers on the manufacturing side about what is going on…let me know.

Webinar_PV_BannerAdThis story is not directly related to solar but Tesla repaid its loan guarantee 9 years early yesterday.  Of course, Solyndra is mentioned in the opening paragraph but no mention of SolarCity in the same article.  The solar industry needs to start thinking about how we can work together as a single voice to advance the message and political power in advance of the next Presidential election.  Yes it’s early, but politics are not a spectator sport and we must get organized and capitalized soon to be a signficant factor.
