This is your SolarWakeup for July 2nd, 2013

Saw an interesting tweet yesterday.  With San Onofre shut down, CA seems to have had less blackouts and grid interruptions than before.  Obviously, this could be attributed to the increase of distributed solar, energy efficiency or other energy installations.  Today’s article in Renewable Energy World talks about making solar visible to grid operators, this data could be increasingly useful to solar policy advocates.

This is your SolarWakeup for July 1st, 2013

The President nominated Ron Binz as the next Chairman of FERC.  It is an approach that brings a lot of support for solar.  Mr. Binz is knowledgeable in the potential of solar and how to work within State utility regulations to create an environment where solar can thrive.  As an industry we have to take on the State level boards and ensure solar proponents are nominated to push forward positive solar policies.
