A decade ago I had near daily briefings from resi’s government affairs teams fighting back against the major actions and today we’re working the market more than the policy. Resi has always been important to me because I live by the theme that if Americans can’t put solar on their house, they’re not going to want a solar farm in their community. If they can’t afford solar for themselves, then solar is too expensive. Rising tides.
AI Capital. Interesting headline in Bloomberg with the thesis that AI is going to shift energy capital to Capex in data centers. The premise is somewhat real, given that the IPO market is closed until Anthropic gets out and some are saying that there is a need for more diversification. On the flip side, can’t build any AI infrastructure without energy and power so we remain the first percentage of the GDP.
